You are invited—urgently and intentionally—to take part in a virtual prayer gathering on Thursday, January 29 at 5:00 p.m.

This will be a time of lament and courage: to name what is breaking our hearts, to give thanks for those who continue to stand for dignity, and to ask for the strength, wisdom, and perseverance needed to respond faithfully in this moment.

On January 30th, the U.S. Senate is scheduled to vote on legislation that would allocate $86 billion in additional funding to the Department of Homeland Security and I.C.E. In response, the Faith in Action group will be marching in Washington on Thursday, January 29th.

As people of faith, we believe prayer is not a retreat from action, but its grounding.

Let us pray for the safety, courage, and clarity of those who are marching… and for our own hearts to remain open, nonviolent, and committed to the dignity of all people.

The Community if invited to have lunch on Wednesday, January 21 at Noon at Niccolls Church. This month we are serving chicken pot pie, stuffed pepper soup and vegan split pea soup.
