Meditative Moment

*Introit Let’s Sing Unto the Lord (vs. 1) #669

*Call to Worship (from Psalm 84 paraphrase by Nan Merrill)

One: How glorious is your dwelling place, O Blessed Architect of the universe!

All: My soul longs, yes, aches for the abode of the Beloved;

One: All that is in me sings for joy to the living Heart of Love.

All: Even as the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nesting place, where its young are raised within your majestic creation, you invite us to dwell within your Heart.

*Opening HymnWhat Is This Place  #404

*Prayer God our maker, we honor the sacred multitude that resides in you. May the guardian in you protect us. May the child in you delight us. May the friend in you challenge us. May your ashes resurrect us. May your sky shelter us. May the mystery of you liberate us. Provide abundance and healing in all forms to those who need it today, and deliver us from shame, hatred, and the chains that bind us. For you have made us - glory - and we are still being made. Amen - from Black Liturgies by Cole Arthur Riley

*Prayer of Dedication

Blessed are you, O God, maker of all things. Through your goodness you have blessed us with these gifts: our selves, our time, and our possessions. Use us, and what we have gathered in feeding the world with your love; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayers of the People & the Lord’s Prayer

And now, with the confidence of the children of God, let us pray:

Ground of all Being, Mother of Life, Father of the Universe, your name is sacred, beyond speaking. May we know your presence, may your longings be our longings, in heart and in action. Today may there be food for the human family, and for the whole earth community. Forgive us the falseness of what we have done, as we forgive those who are untrue to us, do not forsake us in our time of conflict, but lead us into new beginnings. For the light of life, the vitality of life and the glory of life are yours now and forever. Amen.

*Closing Hymn Day Is Done #675

*Charge & Benediction

Go out into the world in peace. Have courage. Hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the fainthearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
