PRELUDE

MEDITATIVE MOMENT

*CALL TO WORSHIP Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord. Mark 11:9

One: Blessed is the One who comes to us by the way of love poured out with abandon

All: Blessed is the one who walks toward us by the way of grace that holds us fast.

One: Blessed is the One who calls us to follow in the way of blessing, in the path of joy.+

BLESSING: Blessing of Palms A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road. Matthew 21

One: This blessing can be heard coming from a long way off. 

All: This blessing in making its steady way up the road toward you.

One: This blessing flows in the throats of women, sings from the hearts of men, tumbles out of the mouths of children.

All: This blessing is stitched into the seams of the cloaks that line the road, etched in the branches that trace the path, echo in the braying of the willing colt, the click of the donkey’s hoof against the stones.

One: Something is rising beneath this blessing. Something will try to drown it out.

All: But this blessing cannot be turned back, cannot be made to still its voice, cannot cease to sing it’s praise to that One who comes along the way it makes. +

God of Love, who accompanies us in all the wild journeys of  our lives,  use these gifts that we offer to further your kin-dom of love, peace, hope, justice and joy. May we become strengthened  to co-create beloved community. 

                                                               

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE & The Lord’s Prayer

Holy One beyond all names
Eternal Wellspring
May love rise again in us today
With food for every table
Shelter for every family
And reverence for every life.
Forgive us our failings in love
And free us from all falseness
That the light of our souls may shine
And the strength of our spirits endure
For Earth and all its people
This day, tonight, and forever. Amen`
